Day Two: Had breakfast before our big sailing adventure out on the pacific at the Breezes buffet.

Day Two: 10:00- We were greeted by Captain Carlos for our “2 hour tour” out on the Pacific Ocean.  The weather this morning was very pleasant.  Warm and not too humid.  Partly cloudy skies and nice winds for some time at sea.  All of us highly recommend booking this excursion.  Great music, drinks, and time with friends.  We saw some wildlife too.  Several string rays, a needle fix, and variety of birds.

Day two : Morning – It was a beautiful afternoon in Panama today.  The sun was out, so we got some rays at the pool and beach.  Several folks in the group checked out the waterslide.

Off to bed early as we leave at 7 a.m. for a boat trip along the Panama Canal and city tour of Panama City.  Be sure to check back tomorrow night to learn about the exciting adventure!

Day Three: It is 9:00am and we already have driven about an hour and a half to the world famous Panama Canal.  We’re about to board our vessel to take a partial crossing through the Panama Canal.

Day Three: 9:25am – All ships going through the canal are met by a small boat where your pilot captain boards to guide you through the canal.

Day Three: 9:35am – We just went under the Bridge of the Americas and the first set of locks are in sight!

Day Three: 9:45am – Approaching the Miraflores Locks.

Day Three: 10:00am – The journey continues as we cross from the Pacific Ocean to the Caribbean Sea thru several more series of locks, all of which go up and down by the force of gravity.  Four years and four days from today, a new set of locks will open allowing for the new mega ships to transit through the canal.

Day Three: 12:00pm – Our captain has informed us that we’re going to get to see a very unique Mexican Navy Vessel.  It almost reminds you of a pirate ship.

Day Three: 1:30pm – We have disembarked from our sailing ship through the canal and are having lunch at the Restaurant & Bar Miraflores overlooking the locks. Checkout this cargo ship that has just been cleared through the locks.  After lunch we’re headed into Panama City for some sightseeing.

Day Three: 3:30pm – We are now in Panama City.  It reminds many of us of Miami or  Manhattan.

Day Three: 4:00pm – Walking the streets of Old Panama City

Day Three: 5:00pm – A visit to a famous Catholic Church in Old Panama City

Day Three: Evening – Back at Breezes Resort & Spa Panama dining at Coco Solo.  Tonight’s menu offers chicken, beef, seafood, ribs, and
cheesecake for dessert!

Day Three:  Late evening  What an awesome day cruising along the Panama Canal.  One can only wonder what the new locks opening up in four years from now will be like!  This is a shot from earlier today of the new locks under construction.  Come back with us in four years to see how things have changed!  Good night.

Day Four: Morning -  We were greeted by our tour guide Roberto for our journey inland to El Valle. El Valle is a town in a crater of an old volcano.

Day Four: Morning – As we drive up the side of the mountain in Panama, checkout the views.

Day Four: Morning –   What would a visit to Panama be like without a visit to a local grocery store!  Several folks also needed to pick up cash at the ATM for their shopping spree at the craft market.

Day Four: Afternoon – Now at the Pozos Termales (Hot Water Springs). Some folks in our groups take time to take in the therapeutic mud available from one of the springs.

What would a visit to Panama be like without a visit to a local grocery store!  Several folks also needed to pick up cash at the ATM for their shopping spree at the craft market.

Day Four: Late  Afternoon – We are now at the El Nispero Plant Nursery & Zoo learning about the famous golden frogs of Panama.
