Afternoon Tea In The Lounge, A quintessentially British institution such as afternoon tea calls for a setting that radiates warmth and sophistication. The Lounge is the perfect spot in which to experience a treasured tradition. It is said that afternoon tea was invented in 1841, by Anna Maria, the wife of the Duke of Bedford. The long gap between lunch and dinner proved too much for her, and so she began to enjoy a pot of tea and a bite to eat in the mid-afternoon. Her fellow aristocrats were quick to develop the idea into a social occasion, and it is this tradition that they embrace to this day at The Royal Horseguards Hotel.

One Twenty One Two Restaurant, One Twenty One Two is a celebration of the extraordinary history of the hotel. Its name is inspired by the building's former neighbour, Scotland Yard, and its world-famous telephone number, Whitehall 1212. Seasonally inspired and produced with only the very finest artisanal British ingredients, the menu at One Twenty One Two showcases classic Continental dishes prepared with creativity and care. Flawless service, an exemplary wine-list and enchanting dcor have secured the restaurant an AA Rosette.
